A: Not In My Backyard
Caption: One sandwich run later...
Songween: So there's lions in my Backyard...
Fred: Yes, Madame. Apparently colluding with some of General Vyschuss's troops.
Fred: My guess is that Jinjur will let them do the dirty work, then blame them, execute them, and look like a hero. We need to head them off. Timo can lead a squad to the cave where the bombs are hidden; then we will have enough evidence to arrest General Jinjur and General Vyschuss for attempted regicide. They will be simultaneously disqualified to become your Heir. The duel will then be cancelled, and you can—
Songween: Nope. I think we'll just put a spy on 'em and see what they do.
Fred: You mean in spite of all this, you still want to do ahead with the duel—?!
Songween: Sure! It'll be fun!
B: A Most Dangerous Game
Fred: FUN—?! Madame, your Heir could be killed! You could be assassinated! Jinjur should not be allowed to walk free on the streets! She and Vyschuss ought to be arrested immediately!
Songween: Listen, Jinny's a lot of things, but "stupid" isn't one of them. She knows we know about her plot, and that if anything happens she'll be suspect. But she also knows that by Crocutan custom, nothing can stop a duel once a challenge has been accepted. So right now she's got the upper hand.
Songween: If I have Vy and Jinny arrested, it'll look like I'm doing it to get them out of the way because I don't think Kittyhawk can win. That won't look good to the populace. She has to prove herself, unquestionably, in order to become the next Duchess. It's a dangerous game, but we gotta play it.
