Songween: Am I doing the right thing, Horn? Should I just let Jinny or Vy become Heir, and then, when they cork it—
Songween: —Reggie's grandkid can ascend—
Horn: I'm afraid it's too late for that. You've put many people to some considerable difficulty already, Madame; you can't back out now.
Horn: If you do, The Lieutenant will expedite his inheritance.
Songween: Oh, he would NOT!
Horn: Don't be so sure. He's popular enough to instigate a coup.
Songween: Freddy... overthrow me—?
B: Many Good Reasons
Songween: But... I thought he liked me—! That boy's been like a grandson to me!
Horn: He wouldn't do it because he hated you, but in the best interests of the country, Madame.
Horn: And to avoid having to marry Jinjur or Vyschuss. Or kill himself. Or get killed on his wedding night—
Songween: All right, I can see where you're going with this!
