A: Not A Family Affair
Teena: How could Songween order us not to be there—? We're her family!
Penthesilia: It's tradition. The family doe not attend the wedding.
Teena: Oh, bother "tradition!"
Penthesilia: A hyena couple is married by their superior officer and two witnesses. That is all that is necessary. As for having a reception— it is generally recognized that putting two antagonistic clans together in one room with liquor is a bad idea.
B: Blood Oaths And Imprecations
Teena: I'll bet Madame Kruger will be there— after all this will be her day of triumph—
Fisi: Daughter! As Chiefess of this clan I order you to be still! We will have nothing to do with the Krugers!
Fisi: Since the day Lucretia tried to buy Kathryn from me, insulting the honor of our clan, there has been bitter enmity between us! I have sworn a blood oath not to go within a thousand miles of that woman!
Teena: A blood oath? Oh, come on! You'd think some hack writer doesn't want us to be there!
Arf: Well, it would unnecessarily complicate the plot...
Teena: How could Songween order us not to be there—? We're her family!
