A: Calculating
CoutessCzhokula: You know of Jinjur's plot, yet you do nothing—?!
Songween: Well, I sent a squad to find the bombs she had Vyschuss's troops hide, but they'd moved 'em before we got there.
Songween: Jinjur's a member of the Royal Family. Due to some complex political calculus, we can't just arrest her without triggering an "incident." Nailing her for insubordination is about the best we can manage. So now all we can do is wait for her to slip up again. Then we'll have enough evidence to throw several very heavy books at her. I don't expet that to take too long, not with the grudge she's going to be nursing now.
B: Duress
Songween: Why didn't you come to me as soon as you found out about her scheme?
CountessCzhokula: She is holding my child and husband hostage— and has threatened to kill them if I revealed her plot.
Songween: That'll teach you. So what makes you think she won't go through with her threat? Jinjur's not one to forgive a betrayal.
CountessCzhokula: That is a chance I have to take. Stopping her from destroying the Maramasai is worth the risk.
Songween: And her bein' in the pokey now probably helps.
