Kathy: So how are we going to get to the other side of the river?
Fred: We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Kathy: And here I thought you were speaking metaphorically!
B: Guaranteed
Kathy: I dunno, Louie— that bridge doesn't look safe!
Fred: It's safe.
Kathy: But we can't even see the other side!
Fred: It's there.
Kathy: What if one of us slips, or a rope breaks, or a board—
Fred: Nothing's going to happen.
Kathy: Oh yeah? How can you be so sure?
(Fred in the author's studio, handing her a large wad of cash)
