Fred (thinking): Sniff. Sniff...? Sniff... sniff... that's odd... my nose is tingling... sniff... that scent... where's it coming from... Sniff... can't quite place it... sniff... not unpleasant... kind of musky, yet sweet... quite nice, in fact... sniff, sniff, snuffle... yes, very nice, indeed... very... nice...
Fred (thinking): ...makes me feel... strange... light-headed... sniff... huh, a little nauseous... I wonder if I'm coming down with something? Sniff... but I've had all my shots— rabies, distemper, parvo, malaria... sniff... whoo, I do not feel well at all...!
Fred (thinking): Wait a minute... Sssnnniiiifff...!
Fred (thinking): Oh good Lord, NO!!! It can't be— not NOW—!!
