Fred (thinking): I can't do this—! Oh, how did this happen—?! Why did I allow her to goad me into playing her little game? I've never lost control of a situation like this before! Must think, must think, must figure a way to salvage this before it all falls apart!
Fred (thinking): I cannot allow this to continue— I just have to tell her that we are not permitted to have intimate contact prior to the wedding... I have to go talk to her... she's a reasonable person— I'll tell her that we just have to wait. Yes. Wait. Patience is a virtue, after all...
Fred (thinking): I wonder if I can just send her a text...
