A Lesson In Politics
Caption: Some time later that night...
Kathy: Psst—! Sandy! Sandy! Are you awake?
Sandy: I am now.
Kathy: What Louie was saying, earlier... about you being my generalissima... it may not be such a bad idea—
Sandy: Pfft, yeah, right. Can you imagine me leading troops into battle?
Kathy: No, I'm serious. I could use your help— someone I can trust—
Sandy: Kath, we are not staying here! We don't belong here!
Kathy: But we could do so much good, if we could only convince them that our plans are in their best interests!
Sandy: Kath, you're not a politician! There's a hell of a lot more to governing than hoping people will be reasonable and see your point of view! More often it's a lot of screaming and shouting and open hostility between groups that absolutely refuse to see eye to eye on principle. Then you have to go in with a big stick and whup some ass, and all you get for your trouble is attitude and resentment!
Kathy: And how do you know that?
Sandy: I have kids!
