A: Fighting This Feeling
Narrator: The Story So Far: Kathy is in heat. That's... all you need to know.
Kathy (thinking): Gawd, this is embarrassing—! Of all the times for this to happen, why did it have to happen right now—?!
Kathy (thinking): If we'd left when originally planned, this wouldn't be happening... I gotta fight it, I gotta keep it together... I'm not some kind of animal, I can control myself... I'm not gonna let this get me...
Kathy (thinking): I can keep my thoughts on other things... how much he annoys me, how much I don't want to be here, how much I don't want this job, how much I want to go home. How much I don't want to get pregnant...
B: The Wall-Flower
Kathy (thinking): ...And now Louie's all mad at me, anyway... he hates me now, I know it... he probably thinks I'm some kind of brazen hussy... and from the way I acted, he's right!
Kathy (thinking): But he's wrong, too... I'm not really like that at all... he doesn't know that I'm really just a delicate blossom that's never been plucked...
Kathy (thinking): ...I just wish I could stop fantasizing about plucking him—!
