Book: The Maramasai is the ancestral homeland of the Hyena clans. In traditional Hyena society, the warrior caste reigns supreme, and dominates all other castes. Only warriors are allowed to grow their manes long, own property, and have a voice in the government. Therefore entry into the warrior caste is highly desirable.
