Fred: Why did I get involved in all of this? I am the secretary to the Duchess of Rackenroon. It is my duty to keep track of who our allies are from week to week. With a bellicose species like hyenas, avoiding a war can be a full-time occupation.
Fred: The Brigade doesn't quite care about good book-keeping. They make and break treaties with abandon. All that matter is that they receive what they feel they are due for their services.
Fred: I am the only person in all of Maramasai who understands the web of alliances which will entangle us all should anything happen to inspire the rival factions to call in their favors.
