Fred: Surely, you know your history...? Hyenas ENJOY fighting...
Fred: ...so much so, that the only way to keep the peace, was to form the Hyena Brigade and send it out to fight wars for other people. Generations ago, a particularly wise Empress realized that if something wasn't done to harness this natural aggression into more remunerative channels, there wouldn't be much left for her to rule over. So she organized the Brigade. The Brigade are mercenaries, plain and simple. They rent themselves out so that other nations can keep their paws clean. But they also extract promises from their clients, to support them as allies in any future conflicts. Nobody seems to pay much attention to that clause in the contract... but it could have catastrophic consequences, should the Clan Regiments ever go to war against each other.
